  • 1 cupRaw Rice
  • 1/2 cupMoong Dal
  • 1 tsp eachBlack Peppercorns & Cumin
  • 1/4 cupGhee

Pressure cook rice and dal with extra water until mushy.

The secret is the tempering: Heat ghee, add whole pepper, cumin, ginger, and cashews. Pour over the pongal.
