Secret Bisi Bele Bath Recipe: Better than any Restaurant

🥘 Ingredients
- 1 cupRice (Sona Masoori)
- 1/2 cupToor Dal
- 3 tbsp (freshly ground preferred)Bisi Bele Bath Masala
- 1 cup (Carrots, Beans, Peas)Mixed Vegetables
- 2 tbspTamarind Extract
- 3 tbspGhee
- 10-12Cashews
👨🍳 Instructions
Step 1 (Boiling): Pressure cook rice and dal together with 4 cups of water and turmeric until they are soft and mushy.
Step 2 (Vegetables): Separately boil the vegetables in water with a pinch of salt until tender.
Step 3 (Mixing): In a large pot, combine the rice-dal mash and the boiled vegetables.
Step 4 (The Masala): Add tamarind extract, bisi bele bath masala (mixed with a little water to avoid lumps), and salt.
Step 5 (Simmering): Add a little jaggery (optional) and simmer for 10 minutes on low heat. Add hot water if it gets too thick.
Step 6 (Tempering): Heat ghee, fry cashews until golden, then add mustard seeds, curry leaves, and dry red chilies. Pour this over the bath.
Step 7 (Serving): Serve hot with a dollop of ghee and potato chips or khara boondi.
