🥘 Ingredients
- 2 cupsShort Grain Rice (Joha or Hill Rice)
- 300g (with fat)Pork
- 2 choppedOnions
- 1 tbspGinger Garlic Paste
- 1 tbsp (optional paste)Black Sesame Seeds (Dohneiiong)
- 1/2 tspTurmeric
- 2Bay Leaves
- 1 tbspVegetable Oil
👨🍳 Instructions
Wash rice and soak for 30 minutes.
Cut pork into small bite-sized cubes (keep the fat, it adds flavor).
Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pot. Sauté onions, bay leaves, and ginger-garlic paste.
Add turmeric and black pepper. Add pork pieces and fry until browned.
Add the soaked rice and sauté for 2-3 minutes with the meat.
Pour in 4 cups of water (or meat broth). Stir well.
Cover and cook on low heat until rice is fluffy and meat is tender (approx 20 mins).
Fluff with a fork and serve hot.
